Say you do flat top pistons, big cams, whatever, but how much can it possibly make with no power adder?
delco 03.02.2012, 07:11
dohc can make over 700, sohc way less, about 4******0...
Hollowdweller 03.02.2012, 07:46

You talking flywheel or to the tire?

3******5, on the HIGH side. If you really want to go fast, you either need forced induction or a 4v motor, or both.

Depends on what you wanna spend. You could step up to a N/A 5.4 DOHC tweaked-580RWHP. Insane money. I've seen 4.6 N/A guys in the 4******0 range. Once again, crazy money when compared to a simple 4.6 FI set up.

x2. It costs BIG bucks for 4v's to make big n/a power.

so 3******0 is feasible to the rear wheel?

Yes, but the difference is/can be 1-2000.00 to go that extra 30-50hp. The heads are the biggest handicap, and the guy I use for handporting gets 30-50hp more out of 2v heads than any cnc porting that is on the market. CNC is for repeatability, and is economical.

i have seen a 2 valver get 390 to the wheels n/a, but like everyone says its biiiig cash... the owner of dyno and performance in fort smith is working on a 4 valver that makes 700 n/a, but he's poppin a hair dryer on it too...

A 4v car isn't going to make 700 to the tire n/a anytime soon.
