UPR double adjustable UCA's pinion angle help

I just got some adjustable UPR control arms and I was wondering how long (end-to-end) they need to be to acheive -2* pinion angle. I have non adjustable UPR lowers, Tremec 3550, custom length alum. DS and a 5/8ths DS spacer. Stock height springs. FWIW my pinion angle is +2* at the moment. Would that be enough to cause a decent vibration?

Put a pinion angle tool on it and adjust until desired angle is reached. I don't see +2 causing a vibration but it could be wrong. Last time I had a vibration, it was an out of balance driveshaft

Yea pick up a digital angle finder (Harbor Freight has them for $30, Sears has them for $150 but it's same picture)

More than .5 difference will cause a vibration.

why are you wanting -2 degrees of pinion angle?

I was told it was optimum for drag racing.

First off, how did you measure your current pinion angle?

I took it to my exhaust guy, he put a straight edge on the flange and then put an angle finder on the straight edge.

-2* is ideal. I wouldn't go past neutral.

how did -2 degrees become "optimal" for every car? what about a car with four solid rod ends verses a car with stock bushings? what about a car with altered bar angles? 1000hp verses 250hp?

has anyone ever mounted a camera under the car to monitor the pinion during a race?

Wes... lay off a little, it's not that big of a deal. I was trying to solve a vibration, and it worked. I'm not that worried about getting caught up in a tenth of a degree. It's fixed and working, leaves hard, and that's all that matters.

Did you get your vibration fixed? I had a real bad one when i went auto and ended up being u joints
