I have a 1990 notchback , carbed, alum heads , tubed k member, factory arms, dash gutted, aluminum kirkley driver seat and no other seats, dampning material removed, fuel cell, 10 point cage, weld racing wheels skinnies up front , c4 trans.

I am wondering if anyone has a guess what it will weigh . I don't have any scales but will weigh it at the track when I take it.

2765 without driver
newedge2k 25.04.2014, 00:44
Agreed on that weight!
I'm going to try and get mine down to 2700 with me in it.
Mine weighed in at 3100, full interior (98 GT interior) full tank of gas, lots of parts (several rotors which are way heavy) and after I pulled all my extra crap and half the interior it was under 3000.

Dang I thought I had it lighter than that. I forgot to add no exhaust other than headers, no ac, no heater, electric water pump, aluminum super victor intake, boss block (heavier), all factory wiring except for lights removed ,center console removed, and added disk brakes.

And fiberglass hood
newedge2k 25.04.2014, 13:05
I'm still thinking 2700.
I am going to be getting carbon fiber hood, and trunk with basically just a drivers seat and 8 point cage.
And completely removing the bumper supports, cutting out part of the rear of the car.
Gutting the doors, stripping the motor of every unneeded part, bolt etc.
And I still am thinking I'll only be at 2600 give or take.

I had a notch with

race seats, full interior, no a/c, no heater, midpipe and mufflers, fuelie 5.0 with iron heads, power steering, fiberglass hood, and a 4 point cage, that weighed in consistently at 2900 lbs with 1/4 of gas at TV.

After seeing this ^ I definitely think you will be around 2700.
So I will have to work extra hard to get my car down where I want it haha.

I wonder what my 79 coupe 351w, t-5, full interior, no
Power steering, ac, or power brakes weighs. Think it's under 3,000?

I had a firebird that weighed 4250.

No just a hair over
aliaszero 03.05.2014, 00:34
I thought it might be a little heavier than that. I bet i could
Get it down pretty easy. If i don't decide to sell it for parts money for my 2013.
newedge2k 06.05.2014, 13:42
My 1992 with a 98 GT 4.6 fully dressed, T45, GT 8.8, 98 GT interior complete, it weighed in at around 3150 with a ton of parts in my car (full brake setup, lots of fluids and other crap).
I removed all of the crap from my car, and part of the rear interior and it's down under 3k now.
I'll be removing all of the interior, pull everything off of the motor I don't need, get an aluminum radiator and I'm hoping to have the car down to 2700 just by that (at minimum).
By the end of all of it, with fiber glass (or carbon fiber if I can afford it) fenders, hood, trunk, and light bumpers, get tubular bumper supports, complete tubular suspension, cage, part of the rear cut out for a fuel cell, I want my car to be sitting at around 2400 without me in it, if not lower.

My 2000 vert with a sbf and a t5 and a 8.8, gutted interior, no a/c no heater, no stereo, manual windows and Manila top was a hair under 2650
