EVAP system removal on a 2011+ system

mr. anderson 17.04.2013, 00:10
STEP 1.
Disconnect connectors A,B,C, & D, A & B are under the rear of the car by the canister, C & D are in the engine bay, C is below the brake booster and D is on the intake throttle body. be sure to cap D off.

STEP 2.
unbolt bolts 1-4, and the canister just pops out.

STEP 3.
I left the connector by the motor taped up and out of the way

STEP 4.
CUT metal line up by over the axle point ( this is optional, I did it to get it out of the way) and remove plastic line to the Y (also optional, but I also did it to get it out of the way)

STEP 5.
Cap the line at the Y.

Step 6, have the computer retuned to turn off the codes, or live with a check engine light.

Good write-up. What exactly does this do by removing it?

No performance gains or losses, just gets rid of some of the emissions stuff and cleans up the engine bay and under the rear of the car. weight loss will be around 15 pounds with an empty canister.

edit to procedure. do not cap the line at the Y. (step 5) I don't think there is enough ventilation for the gas fill. found out the hard way today when I tried to fill up the gas
