magentamonster 23.01.2012, 00:35 So, out of all the shit I've seen this is a weird problem. I've been having this issue with my old shitty pump and my new 255 LPH pump. When I first start the car and drive down my road to Highway 9 then turn to get on the highway (About 20 around the 90? turn) the car with hesitate and cut out then I'll let off the gas and it gains power again. It also does it sometimes when I get on it. Like I said even before I put the new pump I've had the issue the only change was that the line from the pump to the filter was changed with the Gates Barricade fuel injection hose to adapt to the 94 fuel pump hanger I got used. I do not think it is that line because I've had this issue with the factory line as well. My thought was that the change in G's is causing something to short or something however I can vaguely feel it even at a slight throttle opening sometimes. This is an intermittent issue that seems to get better when the car warms up. It also seems to have kinda weird idle like a cam but not really the cam is stock I figure the idle should be smooth. Idle vacuum is 16 - 17 in. Mercury and fuel pressure is at 39 - 40 pounds KOER.
Any ideas?

This is a video of the problem it was cold when this happen and then when I was doing a constant 75 the tach was wavering +/- 400 RPM about.
Donovan. magentamonster 04.02.2012, 19:29 Now it's putting out the black smoke got codes for rich condition (obviously) and I'm thinking either oxygen sensors or the injectors. It has a new strainer, fuel pump, fuel filter, and the only thing left is the 24 lbers I got used.
Any ideas?
Donovan. superdan 04.02.2012, 20:51 my coupe would cut out like that when turning and it was the anti slosh thing in the tank magentamonster 04.02.2012, 22:02 I thought that was just for the sender for the gauge on fuel level. superdan 04.02.2012, 23:59 idk man but i swaped my tank and it was cool after magentamonster 05.02.2012, 00:00 Weird, I'm gonna swap the oxygen sensors and then look at the injector pintles. Your fuel pressure seems to high. Mine is 33 or 34 with vacuum on the regulator. I set the regulator at 41 with the vacuum hose off, but it drops back down under vacuum. magentamonster 06.02.2012, 06:44 Yeah, correction it is at about 33 to 34 pounds with vacuum (stock regulator) within specs according to AllData. However, the pintles look clean and good but idk about how efficient the injectors are working you think that the regulator could be causing too much fuel because it was black smoking. magentamonster 06.02.2012, 07:00 ....
Skip to 1:24 for idle surging to begin then towards the end I rev it up and it idles down weird. asohagan 06.02.2012, 13:42 put your 19s back in, then you can diagnose whether its the the injectors or other components. and make sure your mass air meter matches your injector size The02GT 06.02.2012, 19:03 SOunds like a MAF/Injector issue Have you done a base idle reset lately? I had to do mine three times and it improved each time until I was satisfied. flip4eva83 19.02.2012, 20:09 Have you done a base idle reset lately? I had to do mine three times and it improved each time until I was satisfied. +1 I did mine to spec, had a really bad hanging idle did it again and my car has never ran better. magentamonster 20.02.2012, 03:11 Yeah, might try it that's the sticky correct?
