| I bought this car from Nick(slvr35th) in June 2011 with the intention of making it an all out race car. I didn't really have the motivation to dump a lot of money into it during summer so it's been sitting in my garage collecting dust up until a couple months ago. Now that I'm actually making some progress I figured I would start a build thread. I'm hoping to have it done by June 2012, but I'm getting married in April so I won't be holding my breath on that. The car is a 99 GT that I got as a roller with a new Cervini's hood, cobra brakes, Mach 1 rearend, H&R springs, subframe connectors, and some other misc extras. I'm building it mostly according to NASA CMC2 rules and should be a pretty fun track car when completed. It's going to have all Maximum Motorsports suspension, and will be powered by a forged 306 with a B cam, GT40 heads, and a 650 carb. Nothing real special, but I'm trying to keep it within the rules of CMC2 so if I ever try to sell it I should have better luck since it will pretty much be a ready to go car and won't need to be redone. I will try to update as much as possible. Here's how it started... .... ....

They're 275/40R17's. I'm still trying to decide on what wheels to order. I can't make up my mind between all black 03-04 cobras, black fr500's, or black 10 anniversary cobras. Those are pretty much what I've narrowed my decision down to. blue96gt 19.01.2012, 19:57 Nice man all three are awesome looking wheels. What made ya go with the Nittos over something like Hoosiers? Id deff like to see this thing done off to a great start! Well I was originally going to go with the Toyo RA1's, but I keep reading good reviews on the Nitto's and I would like to maybe drive the car on the street every once in a great while so I leaned more towards the Nitto's. Thanks man I'm ready to see it done also! blue96gt 19.01.2012, 21:08 I here ya there would be a blast driving something like that on the street would make it hard not to take evey cornner at WOT! DEEZ-67 19.01.2012, 21:16 Thats really bad ass man!!! Thank you sir! Phoenix 19.01.2012, 23:30 EFI would be a better idea for road racing. Looks good though!! Yeah that could be true and I might end up converting it to EFI later on, but right now I'm just wanting to get it running and get some seat time. Maybe next winter I will tear it down and switch it over so I'll have a project. Similar Threads | |
