Help!?!

I missed turning off my headlights the other night at work...10 hrs later dead dead battery, wouldn't jump. 2nd guy who tried to jump me connected the terminals wrong, something smoked. Replaced solenoid, nothing. Replaced battery, still nothing. Jumped the solenoid nothing. Has a fusable link, but doesnt appear damaged. Next going with wiring to starter? possibly starter itself? Trying to get out as cheap as possible and its adding up fast, have to go out of town today for christmas, won't be back till after. Car will sit at work till then hopefully.Any other ideas would be appreciated...75 mustang 302

Just because the fusible link looks fine doesn't mean it is

ok replaced fusible link, battery, solenoid...going to try to get to work early tomorrow to drop the starter to get it tested then if it still works, go with all wiring to starter
