Ok, lets start by saying I don't give a shit. Just saw an article in the Oklahoman the other day about horse slaughterhouses coming back, what the fuck? People eat horses?

Yes. In the article I learned that I apparently people eat horse. I was unaware of that fact.

yup, PETA is protesting for the relegalization of horse slaughterhouses, it's that bad. some of the horse meat goes to animal feed,(cat and dog food. cheaper ones will use it and label it animal meal or animal byproduct). the price of a good horse has dropped to stupid prices. hell a goat costs more than a quality riding horse with the amount of horses on the market, couple that with the low production of horse feed this year due to the drought. you get people selling quality horses for $150 if they are lucky at the actions.

Whaaaa, I always think horse = at least a $1000. So it is not common to eat horse in the US? People that eat roadkill=people that eat horse?

I know people who eat/have eaten horse. There used to be a horse slaughterhouse on the outskirts of Porum.

I am not really on either side of the fence, doesn't bother me much. I mean they are not eating fucking pets, they are wild animals that are overly abundant. If its healthy and safe, why not?
