| Hollowdweller 30.10.2011, 03:13 today I went and picked up a water pump for a 2000 GT, which I was told I'd need to do to make the water pump pulley work for the 8 rib swap, to get the short water pump snout. When I tried to bolt the water pump pulley part # F6TZ-8509-AA up to the 2000 GT water pump the pulley ended up hitting the timing cover. Didnt even come close to fitting. Was I supposed to keep the original water pump on my 2002 and just order the pulley. I was told I'd need the the water pump from a 2000 model GT and the water pump pulley part # F6TZ-8509-AA .The pulley will work if I bolt it up to my 2002 GT water pump but not for the 2000 GT water pump it is to short and the pulley I ordered hits the timing cover. The longer snout 2002 GT water pump gives the pulley the clearence it needs to clear the timing cover. Just want to make sure Im doing this correctly. Did I get confused somewhere? Basically the shorter snout water pump hits the timing cover and the 2002 GT longer snout gives it the clearence it needs. Similar Threads | |
