How strict is tech going to be in regards to convertibles?

How fast are you running? I believe 13.99 and faster, you have to have a roll bar.

I don't think you will need a rollbar if your in the 12's or 13's. By rule, yes you are supposed to have one. But as long as you have a helmet, you will probably be ok.

13.49 for 6 pt on vert but I went into 9s with 6pt. You will be fine but bring a helmet

I'm hoping my car is finished in time. A couple of us plan on coming down from Wichita. I have no idea what it will run since I've never had it to the track. I'm hoping for 10's but it all depends on traction. I'll bring a helmet but would they still let me run if I hit 10's with no cage or roll bar?

Hmmm, I think they would let you get away with it for at least 1 pass. They may tell you to either let out early or not to run again if you do get into the 10's. Or, they may not say anything at all.

you better bring a helmet if you plan on breaking 13.99 they will NOT budge on this rule they even made me wear one in my 9000# truck b/c it was faster than 13s

the cage thing is a lil different, if you are in a vert and run faster than 13.49 they will probably check you but since there are so many people going to be out there that day and depending if slips are handed out which they typically are they might not mess with it

if you run in the 10s you will get away with it for at least one pass like tim said but if you continue to and they take note of it they might retech you and ask you not to make another 10sec pass or to leave, most of the time they are pretty lienient but ive seen them ask people to not race again too, this event they should be easy going as its almost end of track season
