Ok so heres the story i went out and started the car so the inside would be cool while i charged my dads a/c on his truck. Got the A/c blowing really good and cold then i heard my car die. It just cut off like someone turn the key. So i get into the car and try to start it, nothing. then i noticed the fuel pump wasnt priming. so i checked the fuse and the pcm fuse was blown. so i replaced it and it blew again and i didn't even have the key on. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas? Oh i used a test light to see if that sade of the fuse was grounded and of course it was. Now the weird thing is that it only shows to be grounded when the pcm is plugged in. If i take it out its not grounded and pin #1 going to the pcm is hot. Im confused plz helpdunno

same crap was going on with my brothers 96 mystic. Ended up being some wiring in the pass. side fender was rubbing against the chassis and had chaffed through and was grounding out the eec, more specifically the MAF wiring harness was part of it. Not sure what your working on, but something either EEC or wiring has gone on. Check all the EEC wiring and go from there.

Generally if you just keep blowing fuses, you have some wiring shorting/grounding out somewhere.

ok check all the pin outs on the coonnector for the eec and everything is reading exactly what it is suppose to. it only blows a fuse when i plug the eec in. i think its the eec, does anyone have other ideas, oh and i unplugged everything i could think of that goes to the eec and still only blows the fuse when it is plugged in

the pcm is completing the circuit for whatever has (most likely) chaffed, check the pins as said earlier and see if any are grounded that shouldnt be....

Same thing with a friends 96 cobra. He removed his STB which allowed it to flex enough that the maf wiring harness rubbed on the fenderwell and shorted out. This was only under hard acceleration though. Im going with a short somewhere also.

Yeah that really sucked trying to figure it out. I dont have the fenderwell anymore so I angled it away from the frame but it was such a pain. Check for bare wires that may touch and short out.

Update! Im pretty sur i found the problem. i was getting fustrated from not coming up with anything so i started taking everything off lol . Well i was unplugging my coolant temp. sensor and when i pulled the connector my short went away, if i pushed it it would come back. The reason i could find the short was because i could wiggle the harness and nothing because the wires had melted together so when i pulled it they separated. Got everything taped up going to see whats happens after i get out of school. Thank again guys
