Just wondering if anyone has exprience with the quality, sounds like a great deal for $150 and the pressure drop looks good too.

100% Lightweight aluminum, No Epoxy Used In Core
Show quality, mirror polished finish
Bar and Plate, Internal Fin Design
Fin pitch is 15 fins/inch - 8 external and 7 internal

Recommended for up to 800 CFM
Pressure Drop: Less than 0.35 PSI
Inlet: 3.0" Outlet: 3.0"
Core Size: 24"x11.75"x3" (Endtanks add 7" to length)

....

I'd be using this for the vortech, the size looks right but just thought I'd show these specs to people who know more than I fingersx

Ok I've been searching and I'm guessing the above is a fin style intercooler that is cheap and not quite as efficient, here's a bar and plate design that's about as big and has a nice price on it as well.

I'm an idiot who can't read and have replied to my own thread three times (description says bar and plate design for the Silicone Intakes intercooler) I'm a sad, sad man :(

Now give me your thoughts because summers coming!!

id get the biggest best one you can find

All right I've found it. After doing a lot of reading on intercooler design and quality of fin design I'm going with this one.

Treadstone Intercooler

Core Size, 10.5" X 26" X 3.5"
Overall lenght 36"
3" inlet/outlet
1000 CFM flow rate
666 HP efficient
less than 1 psi pressure drop

Here's a very indepth look into the pro's and cons of different intercoolers, size etc. and why to avoid some of the cheap ebay ones, a great read..

....

The internal fin design of the treadstone intercooler is second to none, looks like it will dissapate a lot of heat.

I'll go with the slightly shorter core 24 vs 26 to maximize flow since the fin design is so ellaborate, I think it will be a great ballance between heat dissapation and flow.

Going through custom intercoolers treadstone always came up with great reviews. These are about $260.00 which is still awesome for my budget.

Great end cap design as well.

You might take a look at the flow rating of some of those intercoolers. 800 cfm seems kinda low.

Yep I was looking at that. The S trim maxes at 1000 and the T trim maxes at 1200 (although I highly doubt people are pushing these blowers to those levels without just doing an upgrade.)

The treadstone is pressure tested to 150psi and flows 1000 CFM.

They even make lightning kits

The treadstone model I clicked on did 800cfm, I didn't think that was enough.

Here's the one I'm looking at (1000 CFM)

....

I could go big with this 1500cfm one but it'd be overkill for my application

start saving for your new short block your gonna need!!!

Fixt :D

Exactly, that's why I'm going the DIY route with quality parts. I'll be able to save at least $600 over an expensive kit.

There's so many things I want to purchase right now but for some reason my wife thinks we need a savings account large enough to support us if we both lose our jobs for 6 months and investments that roughly match that figure as well weeps
